Hi there,

since a chat module is one of the most central modules for a community platform, I wonder if there will be any good working version of a chat in near future?

xoopschat is too slow and need refresh

chatmx is a flash chat and is slow a little.

i want a fast and flexible chat.

and a question:

what things is needed on the server for use an IRC chat?

IRc chat?
Its a java application.. so the Server would need to be able to support Java applications... i think most of them should able to do that. Just that the user might not have java installed.Thats the main problem..

There is another one that charges 5 Dollars called FlashChat 3.7. Not sure about it. But many recommend it.

Yup, agreed FlashChat - best US$5.00 you'll ever spend. Seamless integration into Xoops. Only downside (for drongoes who don't know how to right-click/open new window) is that it works as an integrated module (not always bad) and doesn't pop open a window.

Good module though; lost without it!

I have question about Flashchat..

Are you able to change the interface and also resize the chatroom?

The background doesn't seem to suit any clean theme
