Cause i have a lot of troubles with my XOOPS website (some users can't comment, i don't receive any emails from website, sometimes i receice 5 the same messages in this website etc) i decided to delete everything in my server and install XOOPS again.

I want to keep everything (users, polls, news, comments etc), just need to reinstall it. Is it needed to backup any files or just to backup my database and the insert SQL queries into it again? And if i'll change my database name, user and password, will old SQL files work on new XOOPS install? Cause i want to change my SQL database password at least.

Any ideas or comments about this are welcome.

if you backup your current files (in case something goes wrong), make a dump of the database, delete all files, reinstall a clean XOOPS and the modules, make a db dump of the clean isntall (for the same reason) and then reinsert the content of the original dump, you should be ok. The database info is stored in the mainfile.php, not in the database, so you're safe there.
