i have a problem which a newbie like me cant work out but i am sure some of the pros around here should be able to answer,

I have over 3000 files i want available to download from my site, but rather than add each one seperately i rather have directories on my server that i add to, and the potential module would generate a page with a list of all the files for download (without actually revealing the url of each file - to prevent leeching)

my site is y-squared.com and the files i want to be downloaded are ringtones, sorted alphbetically.

I have enrolled to a web development cource, and my site is at the moment a means for me to practice in preperation of the REAL site!

i'd really appreciate any help with this!

If this modules is already around, please could someone point me in the right direction, as i have looked around (honest!)

If you can find an application or script that makes an index file of the files in a folder and writes it to a html file, you can use tinycontent or a similar module to display that page in your XOOPS powered site.

hhttp://www.bitfolge.de/snif-en.html - snif = simple and nice index file

I also needed some similar functionality
so I made up some my own script (included some code from snif and Php_Easy_Download)
U can
download it from here
http://dz0.tinkle.lt/listing/index.php?start_dir=downloads
(diferent methods - direct and anti-leecing)
adn see it's power right here
http://dz0.tinkle.lt/listing
(well, interface is in my native lang, though I put explanations in en in config file)

For anti-leeching You can just use
download_attachment($file) from download.php
