Software tools to aid in developing Xoops modules

I'd appreciate any recommendations on tools for developing mods in Xoops.

I've got the whole MSFT Visual Studio.net, but I'm thinking I should be looking for a PHP editor or editor with a good IDE.

Any suggestions or recommendations welcome.

Everyone has their own preferences mine are:

EditPlus - good in-file search features, good directory navigation, great undos and excellent FTP for when you get hosted.

TopStyle - for learning CSS - I just use EditPlus now though.

Xara X for graphics. It not the industry standard but I have tried Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro.

PHP Expert Editor to learn PHP - I just use EditPlus now though.
