Another possibility is to use radius. I've got another customer who wants to use XOOPS at their WISP which already has authentication setup through radius. I haven't found any radius support at any of the XOOPS dev sites, but have located the ldap information which I'm including below. It looks like I'll be in the same boat as NT4 that is to synch with ldap and let XOOPS hit that ldap server as well. I downloaded and tried netscape's ldap server which used to have support for NT4 through a plugin called psynch, but now it looks like that company has split off and only has a commercial pay product.
