Hi!

We are now waiting for about 6 months for a stable version of Multisite Module that works with a Stable Xoops.

We would welcome a new version for 2.2.3!

Moreover, I see more and more that the threads on Multisite modules gets again and again discussed.

I see also that the developers needs to include in the new version right away and it adds an extra-ordinary value to the CORE function of Xoops. However, I fail to understand why the core-developers do not include immediately in the core.

The inclusion can have a site-wide effect, including to that of database as well as functioning of website network.

This module is not just a news module or so. It intwines to the core feautures giving the personality of XOOPS that DOES NOT exists in any other CMS. Hence the inclusion of this module in the core as a political or strategical interest of increasing potential users.

Any news or predictions about the Multisite module for 2.2.3????

Short updated would be nice to know where we are currently, and what can we expect?

Any other ideas on how to implement a site with something like this:

Company
- department A
- department B
- department C

I would like to build one Website where each departmenth has each own calendar and couple of other modules specifically for themselves, but share all the other modules.

I thought that maybe a "Multisite" would do the trick. But since we don't know when it's coming, any suggestions?

Of course, I could just implement individual XOOPS installations for each department, but this would be just too combersome, incl. too much duplication of data. And, of course, a maintanance nightmare

Hi Monty,

thanks! I was not aware of this thread. I've downloaded - now it's time to test it :)

Hi Monster,

I went there, registered, but didn't see anything after login. Just a top site with no modules. How and where should I see the "Multisite" effect?

Also, I went to the other Web link:

http://dev.simple-xoops.de/index.html

but it didn't let me in with my login and password.

So, what are the differences between XOOPS and SIMPLE-XOOPS?

Maybe I am going to be a little simplistic here...
All I want is 2 domain names (a .com.au and a .net.au) to share the same userdatabase so people can have multiple site access but only have to sign up again for each, which may grow to multiples of sites all running XOOPS (no probs having to relog in for each site).

Any ideas on how to do? As far as I can see some kind of sync or re-routing the table query to the other database seems to be the idea? maybe not I am no guru.

Any ideas welcomed, any solutions even more welcome.

Fungus
Hmmm... Why do I have so many screws left over?
