From looking at the theme you may be able to get the effect you want by just slimply taking out the background color and then it would have the color of the body background.

Sorry. Guess I should've paid closer attention to the previous posts. I thought you had already checked the padding in the #obbanner of the css. I see now that you did but only the border=0. My bad! Hey WarDick give a man a break, it was 4:45 AM here.
