Is your platform Windows or Linux?

Is an windows platform server (read the path c:\etc...), I think you must ask at your ISP of this.

Ack! Attempted to correct an error by FTP in the directory name (XOOps > xOOps) and now no access to my xOOps site. Permissions now incorrect. Same question as nOk1a: How do I check and fix them? (Can't access mainfile directory -- incorrect permissions.)

-----
OK, changed the name back via FTP and now have access again. But how can I correct the directory name and access permissions?

Re: Could not write into mainfile.php

In FTP, when you click on a file or directory, you should be able to access an option to set "Attributes", "Properties", or "Permissions" for the file. (These terms sometimes used interchangeably.

I believe the Windows server has fewer options, but, will try to accomdate whatever you put in via FTP. (For example, Windows a global read-only, not three levels of read-only, I believe.)

In any event, you set these in your FTP client. If you can't find it, tell us which FTP client you are using... perhaps we can recommend alternative FTP clients.

Thanks, I'll check that. Also a good reminder: Time to upgrade to a better FTP!
