Upgrading from xdirectory module 1.1 to 1.5

I searched but couldn't find so,

What is the proper proceedure to upgrade modules as to not
lose information. I want to use the new features
in xdirectory and want to upgrade versions from 1.1 to
1.5

I tried just uninstalling and lost the data I had on my
test machine. Do you have to use phpmyadmin to do a dump
of the databases to reinstall after uninstalling 1.1 and
installing 1.5? I want to use the map feature.

If you have phpadmin i would do a backup ( dump ) of the tables just to be sure . also keep a copy of all the 1.1 files ( just in case ) .

Thanks for your post. Can I ask what is the order for updating?

First uninstall 1.1
second install 1.5?

Dump all the tables?
