i am not familiar with any other way then php myadmin, i use it all the time so it does not hurt to have it set up.

as mentioned above though, you can just copy the XOOPS html directly into your root web and eliminate the XOOPS and html from the path to your site. you may want to consider this now before your site grows.

OK... sorry for being dense... it's on a Plesk 7 server so it was there to be used.

However I have looked inside 'xoops_config' and couldn't find 'theme_set' which is probably my fault...

... I'm using XOOPS 2... will this make a difference?

when you go to php myadmin it should bring up your data base. now click on xoops_config which should bring up the table. you should now have a menu across the top with items like: structure, browse, sql, search, and so on. now click on browse. conf_id 7 should be theme_set this may vary depending on what version of php mydamin you have.

Thanks tjnemez - you cannot imagine how impressed I am with your help :)

It might not be the best site in the world but it means a lot to me.... and now I can see it again.... *and* will know what to do next time... cos there *is* going to be a next time... .. how else can I learn.

Thanks a million... if it isn't obvious - it worked and I'm over the moon!

k, i got back to where i was before, changed permissions to get it to work, but still cant select another theme. I did it fine on my other site. Its also using xoops:
zuccaro.info

Having troubles with this one:
wraithsquad.com

BTW: they are both using the same web host so no trouble
there.

never mind i fixed it, it was a permisions thing.
Had to set the following folders for it to work:

drwxr-xr-x /themes
drwxr-xr-x /templates_c
