Why is it that XOOPS is displayed correctly on my home monitor but on my work mintor the center blocks overlap the left blocks and the right blocks overlap the center blocks.

It makes it hard to read a lot of the text.

Does anyone know how to fix this??

Booga.

Are you talking about http://www.theboogary.com/ ?

See no problem there. Neither with IE6, Opera 7.5x nor Mozilla.

hi bender,

actually it is any XOOPS site on my work monitor.

Some members from my site and a couple of other sites that I am a member of complained that the columns are overlapping making it hard to read some of the text as the column to the right of it was covering some of the last word in each row.

Normally I don't go to non work websites at work but thought I would check it out due to the above and well i'll be buggered....it's true. On my work PC monitor the columns overlap yet on my home PC they site nicely. I have spent some time trying to work this out but to no avail.

It appears to be almost any XOOPS site including this one " http://www.xoops.org "

I would imagine that this is a much wider spread problem as just randomly I have found 5 monitors in the last week that don't display XOOPS engined sites properly.

I don't think it has anything to do with IE or mozilla or even XOOPS for that matter (not sure) but rather it may be a monitor setting.

Has anyone else seen this??

Regards,
Booga.

Ok.......finally worked it out.

On my work PC I only had IE 5.5 I updated to ver 6 and all was fixed.

Just thought I would let everyone know.

Was just about to write that you can rule out monitor settings

Wonder why this hasnĀ“t been noted more often as IE 5.5 is still widespread in use.

Hi Bender

It has been noted quite a bit, but unfortunately there aren't many IE 5 friendly themes out there (30% of my visitors are IE5 so I have problems with it too).

There are some fixes for it noted in the forums (reducing table width to something less than 100% in the CSS works - you may have to play with it a bit), and some of the 7days Design themes work ok, particularly the newer ones (try the 'round' theme).
