I am installing a XOOPS 2.o.7 from scratch on a Cobalt RaQ550. All goes well with the installation until I try to "check path & URL>>" after "Configuration data has been saved successfully to mainfile.php" portion of the installation.
The path is right I checked it. But I get the following error during the installation process:
"XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run."
Any suggestions?

Note: Last night I installed XOOPS 2.0.7 with the common.php version 1.52 and it went through the installation perfectly. But of course it did not resolve because of the problem with the 1.52 version file. So I replaced it with an older version of that file which resolved the index page but I whenI logged in as admin the administration menu was not there. The admin module seemed not to work. I thought this was due to a corrupted file. That brings me to where I am now, with a fresh download of XOOPS 2.0.7 .zip (with the common.php v 1.54) from a different mirror site. Now the install is not smooth!

edit mainfile.php, change the line saying:


and replace 1 with 0

The mainfile.php on your site, that is - not the one in your XOOPS 2.0.7 package.

Now it's back to work for me!

suggestion: add code to the installer to detect whether or not XOOPS properly resolves to the detected path.


if it doesn't resolve, then set check_path to 0
