To anyone who can help,
I installed the latest verions of XOOPS yesterday and all seemed well. This was my first installation. When I saw no errors in the installation wizard I thought everything was ok. For some reason, the only thing I see on the "homepage" is the option to log-in. I use the administrator username and get redirected to the same page. I've tried accessing the admin.php and it tells me I'm not supposed to be there and send me back to the page. Any advice would be a huge blessing. Also the installation instructions said to upload the contents of the HTML folder to the web server. There were three other folders (diff, docs, extra) outside of the html folder when I unzipped them. Should they be uploaded as well?

I tried this as well and still no good.
peaceandbalance,

You only need to upload the conents of your HTML folder.

You will also need to set permissions on the following folders:

/templates_c
/cache
/uploads

These folders need to be world writable (CHMOD 777)

The diff, docs, and extra folders do not have to be uploaded.

Are you behind a firewall? If so, which brand/version?

I have ZoneAlarm 5.0.590.015 and it does not like XOOPS at all. The previous versions had no problem with xoops, but this one does.

Depending on your firewall, you may be able to set a rule to allow your website (host) by url.

Oh yeah, and what Stewdio said too.

Thanks for shouting back so fast,
nice one.
Well it looks like my host is not running php 4.1 yet.
I suppose this is the problem given the XOOPS requirements. Is there a place to download an older version that will run on a lesser version of PHP?
thanxagain,
z
