ok am making a portal for gamers basically, i know html and understand how it works, have worked with c++ for a year, and i have a working knoweldge of servers.

people are talking about css? is this a compiler for php? if so where can i get it, i have been hand editing all my php files. I already re aligned the forum new post, no new posts, and locked buttons to left to right rather than top to bottom.

I have also edited the template i am using which is 4whitebusiness to add a banner to the top part of the page. after all we all make money off advertising :) What i am wondering is if this css program is like dreamweaver? I have never really worked with php but i understand how most of the front end stuff works, i do not know how to code databases but my assumption is that its all already there with xoops. I would like to design my own template, and have the know how to do it, just wondering if there are any tips i should look for when desinging a new site, as far as code/splicing is concerned. Thanks
