I've tried most of the nuke systems and find them much to cumbersome for what I have in mind. Permissions being the primary issue for me.

Not having installed XOOPS yet, I'd like to have numerous "Topics" that any registered user can post an "article" "story", whatever it might be called, and have it immediately post without having an admin approve it.

Is this possible?

The answers are yes and yes.

Xoops has one of the best permission systems, if not THE BEST (my biased opinion, of course ) Download the package and compare to other systems - first thing you will notice how clean and clean-coded the system is. You won't regret a bit by using Xoops.

I used PHPNuke, PostNuke, and Drupal for months before I found Xoops. From the very 1st install of Xoops, I felt the same way you do. Now all my peers call me the XOOPS Fanatic. I'm constantly plugging XOOPS to them and trying to get them to switch over.

As I've said in other threads.... I've yet to find a website need that couldn't be filled by Xoops.
