i find lots of weird ip in my site lately..

how do i check where the IP is from?

Is this a attempt to hack or something.. they all look almost identical..

and i am getting worried..

if it's worrying you, go ahead and block that ip range (64.68.82.*), to be safe

heh, maybe block it in an .htaccess file and redirect them to a page where you tell them how to contact you if they've been wrongfully denied

You definitely don't want to block those IPs, unless you don't want the crawlers to index your pages.

They are from Google.

Usually the raw log (apache) can tell you who they are if you have access to it.

yes, because it was just a search engine bot

btw, the visualtrace would've revealed that as well, but glad you let her know what it was, would suck for her site ranking to drop to nothing

The sites I used for IP checking: arin.net or ripe.net, apnic.net, lacnic.net. They will tell exactly who owns the IPs.
