I've just installed XOOPS and am trying to configure it.
When I try to install any of the modules, I go through the process but at the end of the "log" it tells me that the module is installed successfully followed by "Unable to write to main menu".
When I go and check then the modules show in the list on the admin panel but not actually on the site itself.
Who can tell me what I am doing wrong?

E.

Yes, I'd like to know what that is too because I've gotten that in the past and have no idea what the heck happened.

The solutions is just chmod one of the files..
i forgot which one though..

i just solved it last week.. and i forgot which file..

double check on chmod on the nesscary folders like cache, template_c

and chmod 755 on mainfile.php

That error occurs if

1) The request method is not POST; or
2) The HTTP_REFERER check fails; or
3) The file cache/adminmenu.php cannot be written to.

also occurs if nortons is not configured properly, it happened to me last week.

edit: 2) The HTTP_REFERER check fails; this may be where nis affects it.

That fixed my problem.
