me again ;)

about my first post :
- my problem is the same as Madifor,
- I tried ALL the solutions in the Wiki's help
- something is strange : after installing xoops, I have to change the uploads, cache, templates_c... dir's access (remove the "read-only"). ok, it's usually easy to do...
BUT this change isn't effective ! just after remove the 'read only' check and validate, I verify them and ! hum, they are 'read only' again !!! I think that's my problem...
I run under Win XP (sorry... ;), please help (again) !!!

For the lack of better advise:

Maybe you could download XSAS and try that instead of the EasyPHP package. It was just in the news on the mainpage of this site.

...mmmh, but EasyPHP 1.7 seams working "usually" very well (Apache 1.3.27, PHP 4.3.3, MySQL 4.015)
So I tried all the Wikka's solutions (http://wiki.xoops.org)
I activated All error reporting, register global on... but nothing works, no error warning appears.... nothing !!! only the xoops'banner...
My others php scripts are working, but the xoops'one don't...
About 'read only' attributes, it seams that users can't modify dir's attributes under XP...(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=326549)...

If you can't modify the folder attributes under windows XP, you're not logged in as a user with admin rights. And to get XOOPS working, you'll need to have those folders writable by the system. So I don't think it's a XOOPS problem, but a user management problem or issue on your side.

I'm using my admin account !!!
I'm a PHP'newbie () but I begin to know common traps of our old "friend" Windows, so I verified this ! And, admin or not, it seams that it's the same thing for XP about folders (but not files, that's right) (see the 326549 id link above)
thanks for your help :)
