Just a quick note... I am unable to read the compression format you are using. Perhaps a *.tar or *.zip would be better a format for those of us with plain vanilla compression tools on Windows.

Use 7-Zip.

For you, you can download Moodle4Xoops in zip format : here
(7.5Mo)

I asked the author if he wants well to have a project in dev.xoops.org.
I await his answer.

I've installed it and it works, but it could use some more integration work:

- The config file should be removed, this info is handled by the XOOPS core (database, user, prefix etc.)
- The install procedure should be handled by XOOPS (writing info in tables etc.)
- The config options should be handled by the XOOPS core (site name, etc.)
- Site news should be removed, since there already is a module for that
- Smarty templates

There are probably a lot more things to do. But it looks good and simple to use. I definately like it. It will be hard to do all this with keeping compatibility with the original app tho.

Great start anyways

Herko

I wonder if we should embark on a writing campaign to enocourage the moodle author's enthusiasm for XOOPS incorporation?

Any ideas?

I already did that for the next version.
No file to be modified.

I prefer let Moodle do that.
Even if Moodle makes part of Xoops, Moodle remains independent.
For the update, it will be easier.

I do not believe that it is possible. I look at later.

For the moment only the forum cannot be disable.
We can remove all the other modules.

- Smarty templates

Maybe the futur....

Sorry!
I did not understand your question very well!
Can you reformulate it?
Thank you

(I am French and I do not speak your language very well)

Do you have a Moodle/Xoops site we can visit to see integration?

rabideau se demande si il ne serait pas judicieux de faire du lobbying auprès des auteurs de Moodle afin qu'ils utilisent/incoporent XOOPS dans Moodle. Autrement dit leur proposer une fusion en bonne et due forme

I have some doubt on the real opportunity to do that. Different goals, different tools...

Anyway, thank you very much for bringing Moodle to my knowledge !

Best regards,

Benoit

Merci pour la traduction, je vais tenter d'y répondre en anglais !

I do not believe only it is necessary to integrate Moodle into XOOPS or XOOPS into Moodle.
Let us consider that Moodle4Xoops is a module for Xoops. I hope to create blocks for better integrating Moodle in XOOPS for the next version.
For me, Moodle and XOOPS must remain independent.
