ok heres wot i want to do but unsure how to:-

I've added a new block to get the title at LHS of my page..

Now what i want to do I have say 3,4,5 categories within that (similiar to my main menu) and be able to create pages within each category),for profiles of football players

Sorry to confuse you all as i think ive just to myself

I would recommend getting wfsections, the big brother of all content modules. You can define categories, and sub-categories, and comes with its own built in blocks for menus. he is bringing out a new version soon, I don't know when.

thanks Jack, been to that site, all seems a bit complex but i'll read read and read lol,

any easier way

cant i just add the news templates to any new block i'm creating
told you i was confusing folk
