As it is now when you check for new posts in a forum, that is controlled by a cookie on the computer you use, right? Would it be possible to make an option so that it was controlled by your user instead? people who use public computers and their home computer complains that the "new posts" gets messed up..

I believe this was mentioned somewhere in this topic. I don't remember who, but someone was going to take a look at how it's done in phpbb.

I know that Predator and his team has looked into how to mark/detect topics read and possibly combine cookies and last login time - but the newBB dev team should be able to elaborate on this.

using database instead of cookie could be a concern
However, it will be a good feature if it's an option for admin.
