Hmmm..without access to your site as admin and FTP access difficult to trace whats wrong. I still dont know what theme or template your system is using so cant reproduce the problem. Have you tried uninstalling News and re-install? I realise you would lose your current articles, but perhaps last resort.

Also, are the other themes like "default" working ok, or is it just this theme you are using?

Sorry should have said, I'm using a modified phpkaox theme, and the default template set. The problem occurs in all themes though. If there's nothing else for it I might try uninstall and re-install then.

I deleted all files in modules/news and uploaded the news module again, (from a different folder, which I know to be correct) but still the problem remains. Is this what you meant by uninstall and re-install? Only I didn't lose my articles.

If anyone knows anything that might help me here please say.

Sorry you are having such a time of it. No, to uninstall the news module you go to system admin/modules and go to the "News" module and remove the checkmark next too it. Then click on submit. Next time you go into the page an uninstall icon will appear next to the News module. Did you try updating the News module after you uploaded the new files using the update icon?

I dont know if this will solve your problem, it looks like your default template is damaged, may be just the news part though.

Uninstalling and re-installing worked - that you so much for your troubles. My mind is at rest now
