Install Xoops on a local server?

Hi all

Im total new to this (Xoops)
I have a Mac Powerbook G4 OSX Panter, whit a apache server on as standard, now I'll like to try and intstall a XOOPS site local for testing. my quwestion is the server is setup as a standard Apache server do I have to install MySQL or how do I see if it is already preinstalled, when i have found out about that how do I make the DB for XOOPS or mabey you know where i can finde a tutorial on how to setup a apache server to run Xoops.

You have to have the MySQL database installed, yes, as well as PHP, along with your apache webserver. Then, you can run the XOOPS installer and it'll create the database for you, as well as allt he nessecary tables. There are no special settings for your server to run XOOPS, so do a google search for Apache, PHP and MySQL on Mac OSX Panther.
