i'm looking for how to change the color of existing css classes (for example menu item, menu text, block background). it should not effect the templates in general. is there anything documented like this?
thanks a lot for your help!!

First, no need to double post a question. We see both and if you get answers on both it gets confusing.

You might find help in the Theme Wiki .

Suggested method is to make a copy of a theme to use as a start and modify that one. There is some commenting in some of the theme files but it helps if you already understand CSS.

What I did was to view a page source and note what style codes were being called which told me what values to change in the CSS file(s).

Might also peek at this. It might give you a little insight as well.... i know the wiki portion leaves alot to be desired....

I would recommend Topstyle for CSS management. There's a free version you can download see HERE It makes WYSIWYG css editing really easy and a great leaning tool.
