Aubrey:

I think I found your problem.
The version of myAds you are using seems to be a different version from the one I have. I don't know which one is more recent but the version you are using is depending on GET variables to be registered into the global space... which is a bad coding practice.
I think you are not going to understand it

Anyway, I can't remember where I got the version I'm using, so I zipped it and uploaded it here:
http://www.wtmmail.com/XoopsShortUrls/Aubrey/myAds.zip

Backup your data before doing this upgrade/downgrade(?) and let me know how it went.

Found another problem

I can't view archives.

For example, if I want to open archives for May 2003, from this page http://www.koreus.com/news-archive.html, it opens :

http://www.koreus.com/archive.php?year=2003&month=5

Instead of :
http://www.koreus.com/modules/news/archive.php?year=2003&month=5

Hehe, thanks for reporting.
I took a look at it and will be posting another fix after I ran some tests. :)

Keep it coming people!

reynaldo:

I did that, and it all works perfect except when you are viewing an ad and you click 'Main" to go back to the main page, it trys to take you to http://www.myUrl.com/myAds. But this just a problem with the module, which I hope to soon have under control.

P.S. it does this on your test site tol.

P.S.S. Thank you for being so helpful. If this forum had a points system, you would be a millionairre!

Aubrey

reynaldo, first of all, thanks for your great efforts.

My site front page consists of several blocks and does not have a default module, so I commented out the line.

What I got is that all the menu link in the front page are re-written but the links in the blocks are not. Neither are the urls in the individual module pages.

I am using several custom modules - just simple modules pulling and displaying information.

I would apprecite it if you had any ideas on fixing it. Thanks.

Koreus:

I'm a little tired and heading to bed for a few hours.
If you would like to try my last modification, replace xoops_shorturls.php with this file:
http://www.wtmmail.com/XoopsShortUrls/xoops_shorturls.txt2

rename it to .php and try it and let me know if there are some new errors.

People, the above file is in a testing process and is not intended to be in a production site. You can try it, but if you find errors, switch to the previous version.

tl:

Not all urls are rewritten, specially those which are not common, for example, urls like ../somescript.php are ignored. This behaviour is by design.

I don't know if this is your case. I could tell you if you PM me the url of your site. :)

Aubrey:

I'm glad it is working fine for you even with the broken link to main page.
This is specific to myAds module but I may include a generic fix within next version

Installed it and no problem for the moment !
Thanks again
