A sticky Item for on news...

I use news as my home page which really is cool...however is there any way to make an item "Sticky" it displays the most recent submissions first which is fine but there may be aparticular item I want on the top for shot while... right now i have to go in and tell it to "Move to Top" each time a new story is submitted...

The spotlight module is a good way of 'pinning' a top story. Does it in a separate block though...
