Very new to xoops. I've just spent last few days setting up a web server (Apache, Mysql, PHP, PHPMyAdmin on a Redhat 8 platform) with the aim of getting XOOPS on to develop a new site. The other bits are working fine.

Anyway, got it (Xoops) up and running after a few problems and then decided to start configuring the site. In administration I turned off the user menus for Anonymous users (the aim being to unclutter the menu for non registered users). I thought I noticed something funny when I checked the registered users group settings in that they seemed to have changed to the anonymous setting. I logged out and restarted my browser (Mozilla) and now the ability to log in has totally dissapeared!!

I've tried reading the FAQs, docs and forums but either I'm too tired or I'm missing something. Any suggestions on how I regain the ability to log on and hence get control back of the site would be appreciated. (I've tried setting the global variable thing to On.)

Regards
Ashley

Have you tried logging in by using the user.php page? You can find it at http://www.digicomplex.com/user.php and just replace http://www.digicomplex.com with your own site's url.

I hope that helps you logging back in Ashley.

I assume you mean for me to copy the page to my own site? ANyway I cannot access the digicomplex site as it appears to be down (DNS server not finding it.) I was actually on it yesterday trying to find an answer and noticed it was very slow.

If you (or anyone else) know where else I might get this page or know the IP of digicomplex (or even know why it appears to be down) I'd appreciate it.

Regards
Ashley

What NitroFoO is suggesting is that you try the URL http://XXX/user.php, where XXX is your site's XOOPS URL.

Yep, I did that to no avail. As I had only just started, I took the cowards way out, deleted the database tables, re-copied the install files in and re-installed.

I've been playing with it again today and notice that when I changed the visible flag in blocks administration it seems to effect all groups. Also I can't quite see whatthe correlation is to setting the block access flags in groups editing and the visible flag in blacks administration. Is there a document that explains this that anyone can point me at? or explain it?

Ta very much
Ashley

Sorry about DigiComplex being down and being slow lately; the server went under some maintenence. I also apoligize for not making my intentions unclear.
