Headlines frontpage formating question

I Have a question about the Edit template file for the Headlines block.

I would like to see three feeds in one center block. Currently the template for the file reads.

<{foreach item=feed from=$block.feeds}>
<p><{$feed}>p>
<{/foreach}>


What changes need to be made for this to happen. Also would you point me to the documentation on these templates as this I have not yet seen.
