Obviously, the title explains my question. I'd like to know if it can't be done or if I need a mod or perhaps something else. Any help would be appreciated.

The IPB mod states it's for IPB v1.2, will it work with v1.3? Basically the major thing I need is to have XOOPS use the same members in the db I already have, so if you're logged it/registered on one, you are on the other as well.

You need to wait a little while in that case. He is going to convert 2.0 over instead of 1.3 because it is in higher demand. There is a conversion script for 1.2 to the 1.2 mod, so I am sure he will write one up for 2.0 when he finishes it.

u maybe confused.. the mod is a full module.. basically it installs a brand new IPB version onto your system, which means you will need to convert and import your posts and members etc from your standalone IPB to the XOOPS site etc.. then basically stop using your old original forum..

the migrate users is easy enuff to do.. but beware with the full converter, ur server may have limitations on the sql queries which may make the converter program time out.. this can cause a problem as all the posts etc and everything thats not sent after the time out will not be imported.. and u can't run the converter a 2nd time..

it works well with small databases but when i tried converting my original forum had over 20,000 posts etc.. and bar importing them a few at a time, i thought it was better to start from scratch 0 posts.. there was a few moans from the members but they accepted it maybe better as it cleared all the crap out, and a cleaner forum makes for a faster forum..
