Is there a function in XOOPS that can tell me how many registered users are on my site?

If you mean number of registered users currently on your site, you could use the who's online block. If you're just wanting to know the total number of registered users, something like Lykos Blocks will display this.

Xoopsmembers. Click on Members and above the search form, the total number of members is displayed.

well this is the closest subject to what I need for My XOOPS Site.
In New members Block How do I add display of total members since, for example.
--block-->
Newest Members
John
Doe
McFly

Total Members ()
Since Jan.2004
<--block--
The Since Date never has to change. I tried to copy from the system_search_user template but it didn't work.
thanks if you could help me with this or lead me in direction to more information on these functions.
