Hi All,

Just recently finished putting together my personal interests site over at www.brashquido.org and I am using the brilliant XCGallery module to display my photos. I think the end layout could be perhaps a bit tidier, but this is definatley not enough to make me even think twice about using it. Some of the things that really impressed me about it are;

- Thumbnail Quality Setting

- Intermediate Pictures

- Per User Albums

- Use Of EXIF Data (my favourite)

I do have a few questions though;

- Is GD Version 2.X able to make thumbnails from movie streams such as Quicktime or AVI files?

- Is there likely to be any tidy up work apperance wise any time soon?

All in all, I've got to say this has to be my favourite XOOPS module to date. Well done to the author Derya Kiran.

where do I download the zip version of xcgallery. the link to the version 1.1 takes me to a gz file, I would like a zip if available.

I have xoopsgallery athttp://www.naccion.org but I like the presentation of photo-albums better with xcgallery module.

Don't know where to get the zip. If you are using Windows, just get something like WinRAR from www.rarlabs.com which supports tar.gz compression.

coppermine is what I used to use to power my image host with Invision as the board of choice, and when I found them both ported over to XOOPS I went straight into setting up both modules and dumping the existing data into xoops...and it works great :)

Check it out. Quintina.net - Image Hosting and Forum

Yes, it's a great module. I love it. I used to use Galeria for the 1.x site, and I've to fix a few bugs myself to get it work.

But XCGallery works without any glitch after installation. Althought the album table use category to do some trick and cause me a couple hours to figure out.

Great job done. Yes I'd love to see it support video album too.

thanks a lot.

Visitor Stats are provided using the blockies module from www.brandycoke.com which collects and displays the stats for a freeware PHP/MySQL based statistics package called pphlogger from www.phpee.com .

The Site Stats are from the Lykos Blocks module.

sounds like a bit of a nightmare to set it all up... is it??

How would i do it? Like this i guess, right??

1. Install pphlogger onto my web server (this has nothing to do with XOOPS i presume).

2. Install the Blockies module into XOOPS, which i then hook up to pphlogger.

3. Install Lykos Blocks module to obtain the Site Stats.

is that roughly correct??

Thanks for your help.

Pretty much spot on, and yes, I'd recommend to keep pphlogger completely seperate of Xoops.

Nice site,

I see you are interested in media/film, xcgallery does not do media, but the 4images module from Koudanshi is also a sophisicated media streamer. I had to download some code from the 4images site for avi files though. You could perhaps just use this for media files if you are interested.

I have a little test film on my eternally under- construction site under the link "Media"...
