From what I'm seeing here I think you've got a messd up install. My suggestion would be to delete the site, remove the database and start again.

First things first. The "contents" of the HTML directory should be copied to your server directory. Therefore instead of having /XooPs/html you will end up with just /XooPs which I think is what you are looking for.

Remember that XOOPS builds the path for images and all folders from this location. It can be changed but its best to get it right first time.

Finally don't dispair of give too quickly. If you can, run an install on a local machine. If you have a Windows based PC I have used SWAMP-0.2 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/swamp/) to create a local Apache/MySQL/PHP environment to test under. I found that running a local installation enabled my to understand what was going on and made it easier for my first remote install.
