Folks - upgrading a XOOPSRC3 install, need to re-implement
this feature where folks can upload files when they submit them to the download section. None of my users even know what a URL is much less have their own server to host stuff. Has anyone addressed this before?? or is there a better module to try?? we don't really need full Document Management functionality, just simple categorization and tracking.

thanks

MyDownloads RC1 has the upload feature.

Dunno how far it has come.

AFAIK, RC1 only allows uploads by the admin. The end users can still only link to a file.

I too would like to add the ability for the end user to upload a file rather than linking to a file. I thought that I had seen an older message indicating that someone had hacked their MyDownloads module to allow this but my searching skills seem to be failing me (I think I need more sleep) and I can't find it anymore. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I believe it is a toggle, whether you allow user uploads

<light turning on> Oh... so THAT'S what that toggle is for.
I was a bit confused when I was configuring RC1.

I'll have to revisit it after I get done testing wmpDownloads. I'd like RC2 to be completed so that I can test that as I'd rather RC2 than wmp or RC1.

yes <smak!> its Downloads->Preferences->Allow User Upload?

thanks M.

RC1 works nicely for us now. The full release is much anticipated.
