Is there anyway to allow anonymous posters to post thier own name or a screen name when they post anonymously (instead of the default 'Anonymous' or whatnot)?

Currently there isn't a feature for this, but it is something I would like to see added to XOOPS in a future upgrade.

Me too! But I was wondering if anyone had a hack to allieviate this porblem in the mean time?

I don't like the idea. You'll never get members signed up and people would leave nasty surprises or just be cowards. They can just sign their posts with their desired signature / goofy name if they must.

That's why you have the ablity to disable anonomous posting if it's abused. :p

And that is why I don't want to add more fire to something that will certainly be abused. Anonymous posters have more than enough rights by being able to post at all. They are anonymous and the only thing they can claim as theirs are their words and that is asking a lot these days. No way will I let them have more than that.

You can config the system so they aren't called "anonymous", say something like "Wanabes", "Anonymous Coward", etc.

That's why you disable it if you don't want it.

I don't want to disable it. That is why I don't want to give anon more rights.

I only say that I didn't like the idea.
