Problems: block order and flat/nested forum post display

Hi Everyone,

I have 2 problems with my XOOPS setup that I just can't seem to figure out.

1. Block Order.
I have set the News module as the default module loaded (in Preferences > General Settings), however, I then find that the news block always stays at the top (no matter what weighing I give this and other blocks). I am using the center side orientation. Any ideas on why it is doing this?

2. All comments in the forum default to "Nested" style format. Is there a way to set this to flat by default?

I am using the x2t theme (if this helps).

I am sure I am doing something stupid (I always do) but I just can't seem to figure these 2 probs out..

Thanks and regards,
RJ

Blocks always apear above the default module in the first page. I don't know how to change this, hope someone here does.

I also want to change form nested to another view. There seems to be no setting for this, except in the users profile. So I'd also like to know, how is this done for the entirer system?

Sorry, i'm not a lot of help, just have the same questions as you

groteske, ladon:

The problem about positioning blocks in the page has to do with the structure of the theme.html file. Read this long post to understand what's happening:

Structure of theme.html

The stuff about the comments order has some shortcomings, discussed in this thread:

Order of comments in the forums

You'll find the information you want there.

Cheers.
