Can your new site be accessed by IP address? If it can, and Apache has your site as default, then you can forward everyone from the old site to the new one via IP address.

As far as the offer to port-for-hosting, it's tempting but I have other commitments as well.

new site is up, dns has propagated, but yes, i can access via ip (set that site up on a dedicated ip)

Provide us with a download for this module and I will see what we can do over at the module dev team

As you know these two CMS's are quite different and we maybe able to give you a quick fix (ie no smarty etc) but I am sure that would help in the mean time.

also, any form of port would be great, as long as it works

i'll also stay true to my word, if you devs get it working, i'll host whatever ya need (especially since it's the XOOPS devs, maybe hosting could be my way to give back, lol)
