Will future versions of XOOPS be backwards compatible, meaning will we be able to upgrade without having to re-install all our current addons and mods?

Also, can you please five a good idea of what is in the workd feature wise so those of us who want to get some sites done can decide if XOOPS is worth using on them or if we should go with mambo or another product.

For some of my sites XOOPS is perfec. For some it is not due to lack of mods/addons.

So please at least give us a rough idea of what will be in the next version and at least a very rough timeframe?

This has been asked before, and answered before as well. The COre Team is getting ready to make the roadmap for the next versions of XOOPS at this moment, and it will be published as soon as it is done. There is no known timeframe, because to plan you have to have the roadmap
