How to show forum menu on left of first page

Dear All,

I have seen some site can show the forum menu on the left of first page with XOOPS 1.x version. But I can't do in with XOOPS 2.x. Is it a feature for 1.x only?

WHat do you mean by 'forum menu'? Is it the recent discussions blovk? Because you can set that to show in the left and right as well...
