template_c and blank page

I renamed by template_c directory to template_cx, and created an empty template_c.

When I visited my site, I got a blank page. I checked the contents of the new template_c directory, and it appeared that fresh template files had been created... but, blank page.

So, I reverted back to my original template_c directory and everything was fine.

What did I do wrong with my templates_c directory?

Re: template_c and blank page (UGLY HTML)

Answer: templates_c folder should be set to 777 attributes using your FTP client (for Windows, 777 is equivalent to making sure the directory is not read-only).

Once I did that to my templates_c folder, the blank page goes away.
