I have the problem to create MySQL database for XOOPS 2.04.

The database can be create in the control panel, but when I follow the XOOPS install introduction, the databse cant be created and connected, the error shows below:

Fatal error: Unable to connect to database in
> /home/domain/public_html/class/database/databasefactory.php on line 34

somebody can help me? should I create database first through the control panel, then install xoops?

The database is created correctly, the server can't connect to the database. Make absulotely sure that the database info in the mainfile.php is correct! It may also be that the db server is slow at the moment and that the connection timed out, but that's unlikely to give the error time and time again.

oh, and before I forget, install 2.0.5, there were lots of bugs in 2.0.4 that were fixed in 2.0.5.

sorry, still have question:

I choose xoops.2.05, and create the database from the control panel on the server, then install the XOOPS step by step, finally everything is ok, but when return to the home page, it's blank, anything wrong with my operation?
