I'm trying to install at my provider's site using the fantastico option - during install it asks me for a directory (top level) to install to. I would like to install to the root of /www; however, it wont' let me do it. I wind up having to have a site like www.xoops.com/xoops or something like that.

Any way to fix this?

Specify the top level that *you* have access to. e.g. It might by /home/users/xyz/www or something like that.

I think fantastico actually puts it in a XOOPS folder on you regardless of being root or not. Just install it that way, then once everything is up and going move all the files out of XOOPS to / and change the mainfile.php directory listing to / and not /xoops. Then you're all set.
