Lycos should be capable, albeit pretty slow.

what about broadiecarpark.com? They posted nes here not long ago offering free hosting, I think.

NOOOOO, don't go for the BCP-hosting. The hosting itself isn't bad, but you need at least 100 posts in their forum, you need to stay active there, and never say anything the admins don't like. After you've done all this, the chance you get hosted is LOW. They exist for quite some time now, but only about 100 from over 35,000 members got hosted by them.

Well if its for a clan site id recoment dedicatedgaming.com if its not for a clan u would have 2 pay tho

yes i agree, the bcp-hosting thing is very confusing. did not take me very long to exit their site.

is there free hosts which provide sql, and what about data base security?

in the end i think you can find a very reasonable hosting package and lots provide a free domain with sign up.

Like sugested above, Lycos is an option.
Portland also provides free webspace (only 15MB) with php and a MySQL-db (seperate subscription), no adds, but no forum's allowed
