hi,

i don't think so that this is a right place to ask my question but still am posting to get a better answer. one of my friend formatted my USB flash drive which had some important files. those files are part of my work. is it possible to recover files from formatted drive?? if yes, you tell me how???

Yes, you need to use google.. Do NOT try to use that USB drive at all as anything you put on there will over write data already stored and possibly make the whole unit unrecoverable. There are programs out there but you will need to search to find them.

Its far easier a task to retrieve data from a hard disk, but this program will find whatever is there and its free:
(FreeUndelete)

I suggest you try Jihosoft File Recovery. This tool works efficiently to recover files from USB flash drive. Before performing data recovery, you should remember not write anything else to the USB flash drive, or the new data will overwrite the deleted files and make them unrecoverable.

If he/she used quick format, there would be less data destruction than if a low level format was used.

A forensic technique known as ionic latency detection (used in cold boot attacks against RAM) can recover surprising amounts of even WIPED data. But it would take high level connections for that.

I downloaded this program and it works fine. All my formatted data was back including photos and videos.
