Would be nice to see the number of visitors that are on line on my home screen.
Is that possible?

You already have it - when you login as Admin, it's in the right lower corner: "Who is Online"

Unless you want to make it visible for everybody, not only Admins. Then you have to change the permissions for this block in the Admin view.
