Hi, I am new to Xoops.

Xoops 2.5.6 and Xoops25 Basic Module Pack have been installed on my localhost.
It appears they need to be merged but I am unsure of the correct way to do it.
Have checked a number of places but none seem logical.

Any help is appreciated.

you do not need to merge anything.
upload all modules to the modules folder and istall each of them in the xoops administration

Thanks Bleekk

Not sure that i presented my concern correctly. I first downloaded Xoops 2.5.6 and then the Basic Module Pack and have placed both in the root folder. Currently, when accessed by the localhost in wamp, they appear as two separate entries with non-connecting relationships. I want a single access point through localhost with components of both working together.

My objective has been to avoid downloading a number of modules if the Module package can do it in a single step. Hope this is clear.

Ok lets start here...

To install xoops you need to copy everything within the htdocs directory to your web root directory.

Once you have done this in your root directory you should see a bunch of files and directories. one of those folders is the "modules" directory.

A better way to do this is to download the installation document and try that. If it doesn't answer all of your questions then come back here and ask away.

Bleekk, I have no problem installing individual modules into the root
but I have trouble understanding how to get a package to work. Is it appended to
xoops 2.5.6 core?

Have tried a number of settings and looked at the installation guide but
I am obviously missing something.

It all depends on which "Basic Module Pack" you have.

If you've downloaded the one from SVN, then you should just copy the content (i.e. the three folders: /Frameworks, /class, and /modules) to the folder where you've installed XOOPS.

However, these modules are outdated, i.e. several of them have newer versions, so you might need to update them.
