TinyPNG is good one.

Also good is http://compresspng.com

In this one you have actually select yourself how many colors do you want to keep.

I will soon try both, do you have experience with one of these compressers.

btw did you have a look at my mail concerning the slide show that often is used on websites to show examples of what they make or offer.

What you could use is a lightbox script, I have build them into xoops websites in the past. But problem is you need some skills to achieve that. You need to tweak the theme with some extra code and for adding pictures in a post you need html skills...

Something else. Yesterday I took a backup with Arvixe and when I took a download I noticed that the volume dropped by half despite I added many things to the site.

There are several options... This xoops site gives some nice examples http://momedtekstil.com.tr/

The mastop go2 module is used for the big slideshow on the frontpage. The four clickable pictures underneath are a extgallery block with jquery (javascript) effect.

On other pages caricaphoto is used (a basic xoops feature). Upload the picture at a bigger size (say 800x600 px), when adding the picture in the content tell xoops to show it tiny (let's say 150px). But when a user clicks the picture it will show up in 800x600 size.

Looks good, rather for use with pictures I think.
I think Tiny do this in a automatic way because the compression is about the same as if you reduced the number of colors to the point of visible difference.

Mamba, before I start changing the pictures would it be useful to reduce the max size allowed (bytes) at the editor, for example: for draaitijd-lvn it is now 400000
The max size of picture I have for this isseu is only about 60000

another idea .......
I would like to add two buttoms at a article.
- “more information” whith mousse click on it it should open a pdf file
- “get acrobat reader” that give the link to install it
Why ?
- Recently I had to send a lot of pictures to family relation, I had to do it with several mails. I thought maybe pdf, so I copied all the files in Word and the made a pdf of it with the result I only had to send 1 email because the pdf was a lot smaller in size than the som of the picture sizes

- It would be a great update for my website, scrolling down to see all information no longer needed

- It would save a lot of space I think
Can someone help me starting this changes ?
