Hi,

I Recently updated my homepage to 2.5.5, more info under here:

I have the latest language files in swedish but they are in utf-8.

Can I somehow edit all files in a easy way to iso-8859-1?

Or is there a easy way to change the database from iso-8859-1 to utf-8?

Need some tip before I start working with this. :)

What will happen if I change from iso-8859-1 to utf-8 directly in phpmyadmin?

Since your MySQL is < 5.0, this tip might be useful for you.

The best would be to:

- export your DB as UTF8
- update your DB to a version 5.0+, and set it UTF8 as default
- import your DB
- test to make sure that everything in converted properly

Thanks for the link.

Will check that.

I have for a moment ago sent a mail to the web host to see if they would help me convert this. If they say no then, the script can come in handy.

Hi,

Now the web host has upgrade mysql and I have change iso to utf-8 with the script.

If I check phpmyadmin and COLLATION it says now: utf8_general_ci

Admin and most other function looks okey now with åäö but almost everything we have been eriting before has ? instead of å,ä or ö.

If I change ? to whatever it should be, let say ö, after posting it show me ö.

Has something gone wrong for me or is this something that I have to edit myself?

I have installed the module "Backup". And it say like this:

I would talk to the Host people - it's possible that they didn't converted it properly.
