I received the below message from my web hosting provider, what could I do to reduce the high usage? I am using Xoops 2.5.5, my newbb, news and APCal are update.

You might have too many robots going through all your links and thus generating extra performance issues.

Generally there would be two ways to address it:

- remove older content and move it to Archive
- block certain search engines from accessing your Website, or block them from specific modules.

For example, I had problems with piCal, and I had to delete older events from the calendar.

I think you are right on. These are not POST related files. Most of these can be stopped by declaring off limits in robots.txt.

Your stats should show what bots are visiting must frequently.
