Correction: templates/blocks/news_block_top.html

It's strange, what actually differentiates between browsers here?

How is it that some browsers display as intended and others don't?

I can't see anything that I should edit

Cheers,
Marty.

So, either:
1. People don't test their sites using Firefox/Chrome and have no idea that it doesn't work.

2. People just don't use the "Recent News" block because it doesn't work on all browsers and no-one could give a ????? about it.

3. People that know how, just rebuild it themselves to make it work.

The Xoops News module was one of the founding modules of this CMS, why does it not work seamlessly?

Am I the only person that wants to use this block but can't get it to work out of the box?

Marty, it works fine on Chrome, and that's what I normally test on. I see the problem in Firefox, but I don't have the answer. Maybe somebody who is more expert in CSS/HTML, and knows more about differences between Chrome and Firefox rendering, could help here. In the meantime, till somebody finds a solution, you could just remove the
<li>

li>
tags, around line 1630 in the news_block_top.html, as they don't make much difference. The templates should be redone, as they are still using "table" tags instead of "div". We need some HTML/CSS experts to help us...

Thanks Mamba, I suspect your version of the news module is much different to mine as my version of News 1.68RC1 only has 965 lines. However, I think I can see the li tags your talking about.

WoW, 700 (possibly more) lines of modifications in this one file?

Cheers Marty.

Mamba, I only have 965 lines and I can see a few instances of the "li" tags Should I remove them all or just the ones at line 944 and line 958? Also, should I be removing the "ul" tags as well?

Thanks,
Marty.

Sorry, my fault, I gave you previously the wrong line numbers. Yes, those are the correct lines. And remove the
    tags too.

How can I display news images in news blocks, specifically top news block. I did apply evucan's patch for version 1.66 and it worked perfect. However that news mod version is outdated. I applied the same patch to News 1.68 RC 1 released for XOOPS 2.5.5 and no image displayed, any help if welcome.

Thanks.
