Kraven30 is working on a "Facebook Connect" module for XOOPS 2.6.0.

he did a great job its smooth and very fast but i suggest adding a step where you choose a username instead of setting the FB id and choosing to show the real name or not

I believe they are using the facebook connect module that has been around for a while. I had considered doing something with it but it would require changes to the profile module...

I wanted to say that this module has been built brand new from A to Z, and that is not an update of existing module

Ahh cool, then it would be nice if a person could attach it to their user profile. I am guessing it will take an extra profile field to store the Facebook ID# so that you can connect them. I would guess you would want to have the person double check their ID by having to re-enter their normal xoops password or something of the nature. Then any time they log in with facebook it will use their xoops account and user name.

You could also have it setup that when a person logs in with facebook and has no xoops user account that they then can register and verify all in one step with the facebook login information being transferred where possible.

Looks nice, worked really well up to the "Continue to app" prompt after logging into FB then I get this:
"Network problem

You tried to access the addresshttps://www.facebook.com/dialog/permissions.request, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page."

The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

NVM, looks like FB is having network trouble..

So after FB settled, This is very nice. But I echo the "user name" issue. No way to edit it.
The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

Is xoops will use two connectivity solutions "user or email" (like WP) because I find that to provide a user is not terrible when you make a website for professionnal.

I do not use the user for the connection but email, maybe he should be able to add an option in the preferences of Xoops
